Q. I am retiring from the University and want to continue borrowing from the Harvard Collection. How do I sign up?

The Benefits Office is the first place to turn for assistance with issues relating to Harvard’s benefits for retirees. You can email benefits@harvard.edu or call 617-496-4001 for assistance.

Regarding your Library account, you can continue to use the same account you had as a Staff member. The change from Staff to Retiree will automatically take effect in our system once you retire. There is no need to set up a Special Borrower account.

As a retiree you will be able to borrow books from Harvard Libraries and access online resources at computer stations found in most Harvard libraries. For books not owned by Harvard, Inter-library Loan options are available to you through your local public library.
