If you find paywalled content on the web that Harvard Library does not have a subscription to, consider the following browser extensions to check if an open access version is available elsewhere:

• Unpaywall
• Open Access Button.

You can also try Lean Library, which will check for open access versions as well as Harvard Library-subscribed content.

If you would like to search in dedicated open access databases, try the following:

• Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)
• Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB).
