In some cases, a book record on Amazon.com will not be properly recognized as such by Zotero (i.e., the book icon in the Zotero browser add-on does not appear; instead you will see the generic website icon, and the record will be saved to Zotero as a web page rather than a book record). This seems to be an issue with the way Amazon assigns metadata to the different formats a book may be available in (hardcover, paperback, Kindle, audiobook, etc.).

In most cases, this can be resolved by selecting a different format for the book on the product detail page on Amazon. Try selecting the different options (hardcover, paperback, etc.) on the page; often, one of these formats will have the correct metadata attached to it, and the Zotero icon will turn into a book.
