Q. How do I make my article open access?

All Harvard affiliates can make a version of their publication open access by submitting it to DASH, Harvard's open access repository. You can deposit any publications for which you own the copyright. For works that are put out by a journal or publisher, you can most commonly deposit the manuscript version, though you can deposit the publisher version in some cases. For questions about DASH, please visit the DASH FAQ page or contact the Digital Collections Librarian, Corinne Wolfson.

To submit work to DASH:

1. Navigate to dash.harvard.edu.
2. Log in with a HarvardKey via the profile icon in the top-right.
3. Click the + sign in the left sidebar.
4. Select "Item."
5. Select the appropriate HKS collection.
6. Fill out the publication information.
7. Click "Deposit" at the bottom-right of the submission form..
