If you want to include extra information like your own commentary in a footnote or endnote than the source's bibliographic information, you should place it after the source information according to Chicago Style. See 14.37: Citations plus commentary in a note.
You can add this information in Zotero when you are adding your citation by including it in the Suffix box as shown here:
