The HKS Library has purchased academic passes to the New York Times for all current students, faculty, and staff. These one-year passes* provide full access to the nytimes.com website and smartphone apps** to those who register with @hks.harvard.edu, @hks17.harvard.edu,  @hks18.harvard.edu, and @hksphd.harvard.edu e-mail addresses***.

New Users: Watch this 1 minute video with instructions on how to activate your academic pass. Then go to http://nytimes.com/passes and register with your HKS e-mail address.

Free Account Holders: If you already have an account using your HKS e-mail address, log in to your account and then go to http://nytimes.com/passes to get the academic pass. If you have an account using a different e-mail address, log in to your account and change that e-mail address to your HKS e-mail address and then go to http://nytimes.com/passes.

Paid Account Holders: Individual paid subscriptions contain some benefits that academic passes do not such as tablet apps, premium crosswords, and unlimited access to articles from 1923-1980. To have both, the paid subscription will need to be associated with a non-HKS e-mail address. Then go to http://nytimes.com/passes and register with your HKS e-mail address. To cancel a paid subscription, contact the New York Times at 1-888.591.9233. Then go to http://nytimes.com/passes and register with your HKS e-mail address.
