Capital IQ is a major financial platform used to find data on public and private companies, investment firms, capital transactions, and people. It includes financials for over 88,000 public companies and 825,000 private companies. The platform provides sophisticated retrieval and personalization tools to create numerous reports and has an Excel Plug-in modeling tool.

S&P Global Market Intelligence is a platform that allows you to locate detailed news, data, and analysis on highly regulated industries including financial institutions, energy, consumer goods, healthcare, industrials and the media.

Registration Process

You must register using the same Harvard email address and password for both databases in order to have access to both databases. 

Capital IQ: Go the Baker Library site and follow the directions for new users.

S&P Market Intelligence Platform: Click on New User Sign Up on this site and enter your Harvard email address. Provide basic user information, and select NEXT. Check your email for steps to create your password (confirmation email within 10 minutes).

To add industries to your account after registering, click on the Profile icon in the upper right and select User Profile & Display Information.

Alerts:

You will automatically be signed up for a number of S&P alerts based on the industry you selected for your Profile. To cancel the alerts, go to Classic Alerts and check "Do not send" in your Alert Settings.
