The Harvard Open Access Policy requires that Harvard faculty deposit their scholarly articles in the Harvard digital repository, DASH. In some cases, publishers will ask for a waiver to the policy for a specific publication.

To request a waiver, log into the following page with his Harvard key: https://osc.hul.harvard.edu/dash/waiver/  Once you are logged in, complete the online form with all the requested information (Harvard school, article title, author, publisher etc.). Then, click on the grey Generate Waiver button.

After you have clicked on the Generate Waiver button, you should receive an automatic email to your Harvard email account that confirms that you have a waiver from the Harvard open access policy for that specific paper.

Please note: waivers only apply to the specific publication that you have requested the waiver for. By default, all Harvard faculty authored papers are subject to the open access policy. Additional information about requesting a waiver is posted on the Office of Scholarly Communications site.
