Printing Single Sided from HKS Public Computers

All public printers at HKS default to double-sided printing. In the event that single-sided printing is necessary, please follow these steps. These steps may have to be repeated for each single-sided print job.

To print single sided in Microsoft Word

  1. Click File in the menu bar.
  2. Click the Print tab in the left sidebar.
  3. Change the selected printer if necessary.
  4. In Print Settings under the Settings section, click the Print on Both Sides dropdown menu.
  5. When the dropdown menu appears, select Print One Sided.
  6. Double-check printer selection, paper sizes and number of copies before clicking the Print button.

To print single sided in Windows (general directions)

  1. Click File in the menu bar.
  2. Click the Print… option.
  3. Change the selected printer if necessary.
  4. Click the Properties button next to the printer dropdown menu.
  5. Within the printer properties window that appears, you can change a setting to print single‑sided.  These property windows will look different for each different printer model available.  Other settings, like stapling and hole punching, may be available if offered on the selected printer.

To print single sided in Adobe Reader

  1. Click File in the menu bar.
  2. Click the Print… option.
  3. Change the selected printer if necessary.
  4. In the Print window that appears, under the Page Size & Handling section, uncheck the Print on both sides of paper setting.

To Print Single-Sided on a Mac

Select File -> Print
Click on drop down menu labeled Copies & Pages
Select Layout
Click on drop down menu labeled Two-Sided
Select Off
Click Print
