Yes!  Many websites are saved by the Internet Archive and made available in their Wayback Machine. This index allows you to browse a large number of webpages over time with some content going back to 1996.

Example: Every time I see this quote it links to a webpage that comes up as page not found. Is there a way for me to find a copy of this article somewhere else?

Fortunately this page was crawled and archived 33 times in the Wayback Machine from August 2004 to August 2010.
